Martin Hugo Has, Team Czech Republic Sweep Team Slovakia In Three-Game Series

Washington Capitals defensive prospect Martin Hugo Has reported to the Team Czech Republic practice facilities at the Brno Sports Center Lužánky last Monday to begin preparations for this weekends series with Team Slovakia. The three game set was the first tune-up for both teams in advance of this years World Junior Championship.
Team Czech Republic won 6-2 on Friday. On Sunday, the Czech Republic blanked the Slovaks 4-0, and finished the three game set with a 3-1 win over the Slovaks on Monday.

As for the Capitals prospect, he started on the top pairing for all three games. He was a +1 In each game for a +3 for the three game set. He had ice time of 16:28, 9:30 and 16:45 for the three games.

Has is looking to make his second Team Czech Republic U20 Team and play in his second World Juniors Championship this December. In last years Championship, Has recorded a goal and two assists in five games played, including a three-point game against Team Germany.

As noted in our article from last week, Has’ current plans are to return to the Guelph Storm in the OHL for the 2020-21 season, however those plans could change should the OHL season be delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
