Report: Tobias Geisser To Start 2020-21 Season With EV Zug, Then Report to North America

The Swiss newspaper Zentralpuls is reporting that Washington Capitals defensive prospect Tobias Geisser, 21, will start the upcoming season with EV Zug in the Swiss National League. The defender is expected to return to North America later in the season. The NHL is currently planning to start the 2020-21 season on December 1st.

Geisser, who was drafted by Washington in the fourth round (#120) of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft, has an entry-level contract with the Capitals.

The 6’-4” defenseman was sent to his home country last December where he made 25 starts (no goals, two assists and a minus 6 record) for EV Zug before the championship had to be canceled ( Zentralplus reported ).

Tobias Geisser and Nico Gross have been training with EV Zug for a few days and weeks at «OYM», the state-of-the-art performance center provided by President Hans-Peter Strebel (Zentralplus reported ).
