NBC Announces Schedule For First Five Days Of Stanley Cup Qualifiers

NBC announced their broadcasting plans for the first five days of the Stanley Cup Qualifiers, which are set to begin in Edmonton (where the Western Conference teams will play) and Toronto (where the Eastern Conference teams will play) on Saturday, August 1. The Washington Capitals’ exhibition game against the Carolina Hurricanes on Wednesday, July 29 at 4 PM ET and first round-robin game against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Monday, August 1 at 4 PM ET can both be seen on NBCSN.

Game 1 of both the Chicago Blackhawks-Edmonton Oilers (3 PM ET) and Montreal Canadiens-Pittsburgh Penguins (8 PM ET) series on the first day of the tournament will both be broadcasted on primetime. The other games on the first day can be viewed on NBCSN, including the first game of the Stanley Cup Qualifiers – Game 1 of the New York Rangers-Carolina Hurricanes series (12 PM ET).

Only one other game (the Boston Bruins-Philadelphia Flyers round-robin game on Sunday, August 2 at 3 PM ET) will be broadcasted on primetime.

In addition to showing the Hurricanes-Capitals exhibition game, NBCSN will broadcast three other exhibition games, including when the Flyers and Penguins face off in the Battle of Pennsylvania at 4 PM ET on Tuesday, their first NHL broadcast of the summer.
