The Washington Capitals will begin Phase 3 of the NHL’s Return to Play Plan and resume the 2019-20 season, presented by Capital One, on Monday, July 13, with the start of training camp at MedStar Capitals Iceplex. All Capitals practices will remain closed to the public and general staff of the Capitals.
The Capitals Phase 3 camp will run from July 13-25. The Capitals will depart to Toronto on July 26. Washington’s Phase 3 roster will include 20 forwards, 10 defensemen and four goalies, and will be broken up into two squads (Teams Blue and Red) and their schedules will vary. The Capitals’ Phase 3 camp schedule for the first four days is listed below.

10:50 a.m. – 11:50 a.m.: Group Blue practice
1:20 p.m. – 2:20 p.m.: Group Red practice
Tuesday, July 14
10:40 a.m. – 11:40 a.m.: Group Blue practice
1:10 p.m. – 2:10 p.m.:Group Red practice
Wednesday, July 15

The Capitals will open their three-game round-robin tournament against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Monday, August 3 in Toronto. A time has yet to be announced but all of the round-robin games will be broadcasted on NBC Sports Washington locally.
