Forbes Russia recently released its “Top 40 stars under 40” list for 2020. Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin ranked 4th overall on this years list. Ovechkin finished 3rd overall in 2019 and was number one in 2018 following the capitals Stanley Cup victory.
Two factors were utilized in the Forbes ranking: the income of stars for the year and their popularity, which depends on their mention in the media and social networks, queries on Yandex and Google, and the number of subscribers on Instagram and YouTube.

Biography and Facts
Career Ovechkin grew up in a sports family, his father is a former football player, his mother is a two-time Olympic champion in the USSR national basketball team. In two years, Alexander received the first hockey kit – a plastic helmet, club and puck from a children’s toy store, at 8 he began to practice in the hockey section, at 16 he made his debut in the Russian Super League as part of Dynamo Moscow.
