Former Washington Capitals Winger Dmitrij Jaskin Is Now The Second Highest Paid Player in KHL: Salaries For Top KHL Players

The Russian media outlet Sport Express released the top 71 salaries in the KHL earlier this week. Several former NHL players made the list, including a former Washington Capitals forward.

Former Capitals winger Dmitrij Jaskin is now the second highest paid player in the KHL. Jaskin, who was named the KHL’s MVP for the 2019-2020 season will be making 95 million rubles this coming season, or $1,348,000 USD. Jaskin had a career year last season for Moscow Dynamo, recording 31 goals and 32 assists in just 58 games.

The league’s richest contract goes to Moscow Dynamo’s Vadim Shipachev at 120 million rubles, or $1,757,011 USD. You may recall Shipachev left the Vegas Golden Knights and a $4.5 million AAV contract to return to Russia.

The Capitals claimed forward Dmitrij Jaskin off of waivers on October 2, 2018. He was waived by the St. Louis Blues the prior day. Jaskin, who made $1,100,000 for the 2018-2019 season, was not re-signed by the Capitals at the end of the 2018-2019 season. He would sign a one-year deal with Moscow Dynamow on August 22, 2019.
