In October, Jackson Friedlander had no idea his “Mite of the Nite” interview would become a viral sensation. The Washington Capitals are nominated in five different categories in the NHL Fan Choice Awards and one of which is Top Team Video that features the popular interview. Capitals’ Digital Correspondent Taryn Bray told Jackson about the nomination and his reaction was priceless.

“My video represents the team?” Jackson asked. “Wait, what…Oh MY!”

Jackson thanks the Capitals, the cameraman, and in-game host Sandra Draganoiu for making the nomination possible. To vote for the Capitals “Mite of the Nite” interview and all of the team’s nominations, click here. You can vote multiple times a day until the close on June 1.

In January, Jackson served as the Caps Kids mini broadcaster of the day. He interviewed some Capitals’ players including captain Alex Ovechkin and forwards Tom Wilson and T.J. Oshie and asked a question to head coach Todd Reirden during post-practice media availability.
