Today is National Superhero Day, which honors superheroes both real and fictional. The NHL team pups sent a special message to frontline healthcare workers calling them “everyday heroes”, especially in the midst of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Featured in the tweet include:

  • Captain (Washington Capitals)
  • Rookie (Ottawa Senators)
  • Barclay (St. Louis Blues)
  • Breezer (Minnesota Wild)
  • Luna (Arizona Coyotes)
  • Smash (Nashville Predators)
  • Bolt (Tampa Bay Lightning)
  • Finn (San Jose Sharks)
  • Bark-André Furry (Vegas Golden Knights)
  • Tori (New York Islanders)

During this troubling time, Captain has thanked medical professionals who have been working hard all over the country in hospitals to keep people like us safe.

Not only have fans had the opportunity to enjoy his company and cuteness at practices and other events, but they also have watched Captain’s progression as a future service dog and his growth as a future helper to a first responder or veteran. Captain and Tori are both training through America’s VetDog’s “Puppies with a Purpose” program.
