In an NHL.com article by Dave Stubbs, Washington Capitals center Lars Eller announced that he and his wife Julie are expecting their second child, a boy, in August.
The Ellers already have a daughter, Sofia, who is seven. Several of his teammates have returned to their home countries amid the Coronavirus pandemic, but rather than flying to Denmark, the family is staying in the D.C. area.
They’ve been keeping busy outside, Eller said. “We do a lot of outdoor stuff, a lot of ball games in the driveway, street, and garage… When the weather’s bad, we play board games, learning a few new ones, having fun as a family. All of that to gravitate a little bit away from the iPads and the TV screen, an easy thing for them to fall into.”
On Sunday, Eller live-tweeted a rebroadcast of Game 5 of the 2018 Stanley Cup Final between the Capitals and Vegas Golden Knights. He called his Stanley Cup game-winning goal “easily one of the greatest moments of my career.”
Never stop working… Easily one of the greatest moments of my career. I’ll never forget this one. pic.twitter.com/YomO94TyVa
