While the NHL is currently on hiatus following the outbreak of the coronavirus, leaving many despondent over the pause of the 2019-20 season, two members of the Washington Capitals had much more important matters to attend to in the last two days. Right wing T.J. Oshie and defenseman Nick Jensen, and their families welcomed sons into the world just one day apart.
In a post to Instagram March 17, Oshie announced that he and wife Lauren welcomed their first son and third child, Campbell Richard Oshie, into the world on March 16, 2020, joining older sisters Lyla (6) and Leni (4 in June). In the post, featuring pictures of the couple and the new addition, T.J. commented: I finally got my golf partner for life yesterday! Please meet our little boy Campbell Richard Oshie! @lauren.oshie and Campbell are doing great!! Can’t wait to get home so Lyla and Leni can hold their babe Bruvr for the first time!! #LilOshBabe”
The same day, Nick and wife Jenner announced that they had welcomed son and first child, Lorenzo Luck Jensen on March 17, 2020 (St. Patrick’s Day). In posts to Instagram, both Nick and Jenner welcomed their son, with Nick commenting: “With all the tough news lately it’s nice to find a bright spot! 🍀Lorenzo Luck Jensen 3/17/20🍀”
The two new arrivals join fellow Capitals baby Louie Dowd as the latest additions to the Capitals’ family, with both center Nicklas Backstrom and Alex Ovechkin, and their families also expecting babies in the near future.
A huge congratulations to the Oshie and Jensen families on the arrival of their newest family members!

Ahhhh! Great baby pictures to give us joy during the “great pandemic”. Quite the baby boom for the Caps this season.
