The Capitals made their way north of the border Wednesday afternoon in advance of their second and final tilt with the Winnipeg Jets this season. Puck drop is set for just after 8:00 pm ET tonight. Here is the latest news from Capitals game day morning skate at Bell MTS Place in “The Peg”.

FROM THE OTHER BENCH
Prior to morning skate the Jets announced they have recalled Nelson Nogier from the Moose. According to Scott Billeck of the Winnipeg Sun a number of players wearing non-contact uniforms including Adam Lowry, Josh Morrissey and Carl Dahlstrom.  The team took their team photo but according to Murat Ates of The Athletic Winnipeg both Mathieu Perreault and Sami Niku didn’t stay on the ice afterwards for skate.

  • Tom Wilson has scored a goal in three of his last four games and has 20 goals on the season. He’s on pace to pass his career high in goals set last year (2018-19: 22 goals).
  • Extending into last season, Wilson has recorded 51 points (26g, 25a) over his last 82 games (Feb. 24, 2019 – Feb. 27, 2020). Additionally, with 79 penalty minutes, Wilson is on track to record the fewest penalty minutes in a single season in his career (previous low: 2018-19, 128 PIM).
  • Entering the season, Wilson was the only player in the NHL to record at least 75 points and 250 penalty minutes over the previous two seasons (Wilson: 75 points, 315 PIM).
