The Washington Capitals‘ fourth-line was on fire Tuesday night as they clashed with the Winnipeg Jets at Capital One Arena. Forward Garnet Hathway scored his 7th goal of the season coming off of assists from fellow linemates center Nic Dowd and forward Richard Panik. Seconds later, Hathaway got into a fight, completing two-thirds of the Gordie Howe hat trick.
Hathway extended the Capitals’ lead to 3-0 at 13:25 into the second period. Dowd and Panik had the helpers.

Seconds later, Hathaway threw hands with Jets’ defenseman Anthony Bitetto. Already notching a goal and fight, all he needs in the third period is an assist to complete the Gordie Howe hat trick.

Hathaway and Dowd record a podcast together called “Between Two Blue Lines”. The two forwards were featured in a “Level With Me” segment during the second intermission discussing Hathway’s goal song, “What is Love” by Haddaway. Tonight’s goal marked the first time Hathway has heard his goal song at Capital One Arena.
Remember when Dowd said we hadn’t heard @GarnetHathaway‘s goal song at @CapitalOneArena? 😂😂😂
Perfect timing, Garny!!!
