He’s this close to another major milestone. Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin scored his 699th career goal on Thursday as the team clashes with Montréal Canadiens at Capital One Arena. He is now only one goal away from hitting the 700-goal plateau.
Giving the Capitals a 1-0 lead midway into the first period, Ovechkin opened the scoring tonight from a pass by center Nicklas Backstrom right off the offensive-zone faceoff draw. The goal marks his 41st of the season.

Goal #699 also ended his five-game scoring drought (16 days).

#4 is already the best player on the ice. A major upgrade if you ask me. Good that Ovechkin gets a goal. Then Braden Swiss Cheese Hole-by gives up one of his patented momentum-killer softie goals and it’s 1-1.
Same old Caps
You must be a blast at parties.
Wow, wow, wow!!!!!!!! Oh, we lost didn’t we?
I feel your frustration, James (Believe me). But isn’t it ok to acknowledge (report) on Ovechkin’s achievements?
