Programming alert! The NBCSN doubleheader on Thursday will feature the Washington Capitals-Colorado Avalanche game immediately following coverage of the Philadelphia Flyers-Florida Panthers. The Capitals game was originally scheduled for 9 P.M. ET but has been changed to 9:30 P.M. ET.
Viewers can still watch Thursday’s game on NBC Sports Washington locally. After recording a hat trick in the span of only four minutes and 24 seconds in the February 4 victory over the Kings, Washington Capitals’ captain Alex Ovechkin currently sits at 698 career goals. In crossing the 700-goal benchmark, Ovechkin is looking to become just the eighth player in NHL history to achieve the feat.
From NBC Sports
With Alex Ovechkin just two goals shy of reaching 700 goals for his NHL career, NBC Sports has flexed into its second Capitals game this week, adding Washington’s game against the Colorado Avalanche at Pepsi Center in Denver, Colo, on Thursday night.
Thursday night’s coverage of Capitals-Avalanche will be the second half of an NHL doubleheader on NBCSN, immediately following originally-scheduled coverage of Flyers-Panthers, which begins at 7 p.m. ET. Pre-game coverage at 6 p.m. ET with NHL Live.
Ovechkin currently sits at 698 career goals and would become just the eighth player in NHL history to reach the 700-goal milestone.
