Washington Capitals’ center Evgeny Kuznetsov left Monday’s game during the second period against the New York Islanders after a collision with Islanders’ center Leo Komarov. He was questionable to return but ultimately did not for the third period. The Capitals were down 5-3 after two periods.
After taking a hit at center ice from Komarov at the boards, Kuznetsov headed down the tunnel in pain.
Per the team, he was questionable to return for the final frame.
#Caps Evgeny Kuznetsov (upper body) is questionable to return.

Did not look good. Hate to speculate, but looked like a shoulder.
If we hear news tomorrow that a forward from Hershey is recalled, then the news is very bad indeed. Question: do the Caps have any room to recall a forward? I presume Travis Boyd is in the lineup on Thursday. (At the rate team is going, maybe I should just refrain from watching Thursday’s game.)
