Defenseman Martin Fehervary, who was assigned to the AHL’s Hershey Bears on Wednesday after a solid game in the Washington Capitals‘ 4-2 win over the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday, was on the ice for the Bears’ morning skate but there is no official lineup for their game tonight as of yet. He could be called up prior to their game against the Philadelphia Flyers at Capital One Arena on Saturday (7 PM ET, NBC Sports Washington) but that is not a guarantee. The Bears usually release their lineups around 6:30.
The Capitals held an optional practice on Friday and skills coach Dwayne Blais was in town to help out.
Goaltender Brian Elliott will start in goal for the Flyers against the Capitals on Saturday night.
Have a feeling there will be a transaction before tomorrow’s game. AV talking about “moving parts” and needing to talk to Chuck Fletcher and not being married to the combinations we saw at practice.

Flyers forward Joel Farabee won’t play against the Capitals due to illness. He is currently undersized and head coach Alain Vigneault said he’s lost a considerable amount of weight.
The Capitals have yet to announce who will start in net on Saturday.
The team held a skate with Dream For Kids D.C. after Friday’s optional practice. Center Nicklas Backstrom and defenseman Radko Gudas were among those who participated.

Flyers center Nolan Patrick (migraines), who has yet to play this season, was on the ice for the third straight day with skills coach Angelo Ricci before the Flyers’ practice. Defenseman Philipp Myers skated after taking a big hit from New Jersey Devils center John Hayden in the team’s 5-0 loss to the Devils last night.
