Capitals’ Prospect Connor McMichael Scores Hat Trick In Win With London Knights; Records 6th Hat Trick Of The Season

London Knights center and Washington Capitals prospect Connor McMichael continues to stay on fire after winning gold with Team Canada in the World Juniors Championship. The first-round pick recorded his sixth hat trick of the season in the 7-4 win over the OHL’s Windsor Spitfires.

McMichael broke the tie towards the end of the middle frame, extending the Knights’ lead to 3-2.

After the Spitfires tied it back up, the Knights entered the final period at 3-3. The Capitals prospect would score his second goal of the night in the early minutes of the final frame.

The 19-year old would complete the hat trick with an empty-net goal. The final score would be 7-4 in favor of the London Knights.

McMichael’s hat trick would mark his sixth of the season. He has 37 goals and 43 assists for 80 points in 36 games played. He also earned the first star in the Knights’ “Three Stars of the Game”.

      I get the impression that—ready or not—he’d be a distinct improvement over the likes of Carl Hagelin or Richard Panik…..Connor McMichael looks to be such a pure Alex DeBrincat-like shooter that he’d likely thrive on any line Tom Reirden decided to put him on–not to mention man advantage situations…

      Just my opinion,
