Capitals’ John Carlson Earns 361st Career Assist; Ties Calle Johansson For Most Assists By A Defenseman In Franchise History

Washington Capitals defenseman John Carlson picked up his 361st assist in tonight’s game against the Ottawa Senators. He now ties Capitals alum Calle Johansson for most assists by a defenseman in franchise history.

His helper came minutes into the opening period from a goal by forward T.J. Oshie. It marked his 48th assist on the season for a total of 61 points thus far.
