From Horseback Riding To Beach Volleyball In Mexico: Washington Capitals Kick-Off Bye Week And All-Star Break Vacations

The Washington Capitals are enjoying some time off with family and friends prior to the NHL All-Star Weekend and the second half of the season. Here are the team’s latest vacation spots.

Alex Ovechkin (and Tom Wilson) in Mexico

The Capitals captain is spending his week with family and friends in at the Riviera Maya in Mexico, which is south of Cacún.

Tom Wilson and his girlfriend, Taylor Pischke, were also in Mexico and played beach volleyball with the Ovechkins. Taylor is a beach volleyball player for Team Canada.

Ilya Samsonov, Dmitry Orlov, and Jakub Vrana In Miami

The rookie goaltender is one of several players vacationing in Southern Florida this week. Dmitry Orlov and his family and Jakub Vrana shared a photo.

Capitals’ assistant/video coach Brett Leonhardt is spending time north of the border. His wife, Logan shared a video of the snowy, cold setting and went skiing today.

The Capitals analyst is spending a few days in Abu Dhabi. A Capitals hockey clinic will be occurring on Tuesday.

Nic Dowd Staying Local and Garnet Hathaway Heads to New York

According to Nic Dowd’s and Garnet Hathaway’s latest podcast, “Between Two Blue Lines”, Dowd is most likely staying local with family. Nic and Paige welcomed a baby boy, Louie, on New Year’s Eve.

Hathaway and his fiancée are relaxing in New York along with working on preparations for their summer wedding.
