Capitals To Host Viewing Party, Rock the Rink Skate At The Wharf On January 18 At 1 P.M.

The Washington Capitals and The Wharf are hosting a viewing party and “Rock the Rink” skate at the Capitals Campfire and ice rink on Transit Pier at the Wharf on Saturday, January 18. The team will be clashing with the Islanders in New York at 1 P.M. ET.

The viewing party is free of charge. A 14′ jumbotron screen will air the game. Fans are encouraged to watch the game, enjoy s’mores, and take photos on a Capitals-themed ice throne. Adult beverages will be present (must be 21+ to consume alcohol, no outside alcohol allowed).

A Rock the Rink skate will also take place at 1 P.M. It will feature Capitals trivia contests, giveaways, Capitals-themed beverages, and a DJ. Capitals fans who attend Rock the Rink Skate in Capitals jerseys or gear will receive $5 off admission.

The event coincides with the Washington Area Fuel Fund’s third-annual Ice House fundraiser and Fire and Ice Festival, which helps raise money to support heating fuel for local people in need.

Open and free to the public, Capitals Campfire runs from December 5 to February 25. During this winter season, fans can enjoy the Capitals-inspired décor and Adirondack chairs and a wood-burning fire to roast marshmallows and make s’mores. The “Caps S’more” features a peppermint patty wrapped in a chocolate graham cracker and is available for $3.25 at the little Camp Wharf s’mores trailer.

In addition to January 18, Rock the Rink skates will be held on January 31 and February 17 at the Wharf. Other locations include Arlington, Virginia; Rockville, Maryland; and Nottingham, Maryland. Click here for more information.

From the Capitals

The Washington Capitals and The Wharf will host a viewing party in front of the Capitals Campfire at the Wharf on Saturday, Jan. 18 when the Capitals visit the New York Islanders at 1 p.m. The game will be aired on a 14’ jumbotron screen.
