According to Emily Kaplan of ESPN, a women’s 3-on-3 event will debut during the 2020 NHL All-Star Weekend at Enterprise Center in St. Louis, which begins on January 24. The scrimmage will feature top American and Canadian women’s hockey players.

Later this week, the NHL will be releasing more information about the women’s 3-on-3 event, a new element in the skills competition, and all of the planned activities.

Forward Kendall Coyne Schofield of the United States Women’s National Hockey team made history as the first woman to compete in an NHL All-Stars skills competition. She competed in the fastest skater event, recording a time of 14.345 seconds last year in San Jose.

This season, more than 200 national women’s players have boycotted professional teams in hopes of a better, more sustainable pro league. All women invited to participate in this year’s All-Star event are national players and are a part of the Professional Women’s Hockey Players Association.

Good add NHL. Took a while, but glad to see it finally happen. It’s a no-brained.
