Washington Capitals forward prospect Connor McMichael recorded two goals and an assist in the London Knights’ 7-1 win over the Soo Greyhounds on Sunday afternoon, his fifth goal in two games, to continue his dominant campaign. He recorded a hat trick in the Knights’ 6-5 loss to the Saginaw Spirit on Saturday, his fourth hat trick of the season.
He was at the crease after scrambling with a Greyhounds’ defender to tuck in a loose puck on the backhand after one of his teammates let a shot go from the point to open the scoring for the Knights and the goaltender let it through his five-hole.

McMichael’s second goal was pretty. He got the puck from one of his teammates after a Greyhounds’ turnover and put the puck threw his own legs and roofed it under the cross-bar.

McMichael, the Capitals’ first-round (No. 25 overall) pick in the NHL Draft last summer, is now up to 30 goals, 66 points, and a +19 rating in just 30 games this season. He is tied for fourth in the OHL in points and only one behind the league-lead in goals.

When will we see him in Washington? We need the scoring and grit that this player has.
If Dame Fortune smiles on us we’ll get to witness his genius in a Caps’ uni on a nightly basis for the next 12 to 15 years…
It can’t happen quickly enough for me…

The balls on this kids is what stands out the most to me. He’s got a tremendous confidence, to accompany his hyper-quick release.
