Caps Announce ‘Rock The Rink’ Dates and Locations

The Washington Capitals announced today dates and locations for Rock The Rink skates at select outdoor rinks in the region. In addition, fans are encouraged to share photos of themselves skating at area outdoor rinks on social channels by tagging @Capitals and using the #RockTheRink hashtag for the chance to win prizes. Additionally, Caps fans who attend our #RockTheRink skates in Capitals jerseys or gear will receive $5 off admission.

Locations hosting special Rock The Rink skates this winter include:

The Wharf │Jan. 18, Jan. 31 and Feb. 17

960 Wharf Street SW, Washington, D.C. 20024

The Wharf will host Rock The Rink skates on Jan. 18 at 1 p.m., Jan. 31 at 6 p.m. and Feb. 17 at 1 p.m.

The Wharf Ice Rink on Transit Pier features the Capitals, with Capitals rink panels and a Capitals-themed ice resurfacer. The Rock the Rink skates will feature Caps Trivia contests, giveaways, Capitals-themed beverages and a DJ. Capitals fans who attend Rock the Rink Skate in Capitals jerseys or gear will receive $5 off admission.

Fans are also encouraged to visit the Capitals Campfire at The Wharf, featuring Capitals-themed décor and Adirondack chairs around the wood-burning fire where fans can roast marshmallows from Thursday through Sunday. Capitals-themed smores, which include a peppermint patty wrapped in a chocolate graham cracker, are available for $3.25 at the Camp Wharf s’mores trailer. In addition, Capitals mascot Slapshot will be present at the Jan. 31 and Feb. 17 skates.

The Capitals games on Jan. 18, Jan. 31 and Feb. 17 will be aired in front of the Capitals Campfire on a 14’ jumbotron screen. Fans are invited to watch the game and enjoy s’mores and adult beverages around the campfire (must be 21+ to consume alcohol, no outside alcohol allowed).

Pentagon Row │Feb. 27 and March 9

Pentagon Row will host Rock The Rink skates on Feb. 27 at 7 p.m. and March 9 at 6 p.m.

The skates will feature an appearance by Slapshot, giveaways, a DJ and Capitals-themed specials at surrounding restaurants and eateries.

Capitals fans who attend Rock the Rink Skate in Capitals jerseys or gear will receive a complimentary skate rental during the event.

The Capitals games on Feb. 27 and March 9 will be available for viewing at select surrounding bars.

Rockville Town Square │Jan. 31 and March 5

131 Gibbs St, Rockville, MD 20850

Rockville Town Square will host Rock the Rink Skates on Jan. 31 at 5:30 p.m. and March 5 at 6 p.m.

The skates will feature an appearance by Slapshot, giveaways, a DJ and Capitals-themed specials at surrounding restaurants and eateries. In addition, Rockville native and Capitals hockey ambassador Haley Skarupa will be in attendance on Jan. 31.

The Capitals games on Jan. 31 and March 5 will be available for viewing at select surrounding bars.

THE AVENUE at White Marsh │Feb. 7

THE AVENUE at White Marsh will host a Rock The Rink skate on Feb. 7 at 6 p.m.

The skate will feature an appearance by Slapshot, giveaways, a DJ and Capitals-themed specials at surrounding restaurants and eateries.

Capitals fans who attend the Rock the Rink skate in Capitals jerseys or gear will receive a complimentary skate rental during the event.
