It’s the song, or cover rather, that you didn’t know you needed. With Christmas two days away, the Washington Capitals released their 2019 holiday video. This year, Captain was a part of the annual tradition.
To summarize the next crazy yet adorable 80 seconds:
Braden Holtby on the xylophone
Jakub Vrana on the maracas
Alex Ovechkin on the accordion
Lars Eller on the recorder
John Carlson on the triangle
Tom Wilson on the drum
Carl Hagelin on the guiro
Nic Dowd and Garnet Hathaway on backup vocals
Captain on lead vocals
It’s inspired by Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You” video featuring The Tonight Show’s Jimmy Fallon and The Roots playing the popular tune with classroom instruments.
As Wilson said, “Nailed it!”
In 2017 and 2018, the Capitals released holidays videos about their albums, Wow That’s What I Call Music.
