Connor McMichael Survives Final Cut, Makes Team Canada’s 2020 World Junior Team

Washington Capitals prospect Connor McMichael has officially made the final 23-man roster for Team Canada’s 2020 IIHF World Junior Championship Team. The roster was cut to 24 last Thursday following Team Canada’s selection camp, with one more cut required by December 25th. The final cut was made on Saturday.

The announcement was made early Saturday morning, as Dale Hunter and Team Canada management announced the final cut.

“The management group and coaches have done a terrific job working with the players and finalizing the roster,” said Shawn Bullock, director of men’s national teams with Hockey Canada. “This team has a lot of skill, international experience and, most importantly, is a group of quality young men.”

Team Canada has one more tuneup game on Monday, December 23rd at 11:30 AM EST vs Finland.

The tournament for Team Canada begins on December 26th when they face Team USA at 1:00 PM ET.
