It was a moment he will always remember. Make-A-Wish Kid, Brock, spent time with Washington Capitals forward T.J. Oshie and the team during Friday morning’s practice, Hockey Fights Cancer skate and participated in the starting lineup for Saturday’s matinee matchup against the Vancouver Canucks.
The 18-year old hockey player from Reading, Pennsylvania successfully completed his full treatment for a brain tumor. Oshie granted his wish through Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic.

Brock kicked off the day with the Capitals at their morning skate on Friday. He received fist bumps from the guys and stick taps when he joined the team on the ice.

Brock also took part in the annual Hockey Fights Cancer Skate following the practice. Families from Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic, Flashes of Hope, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and Pancreatic Cancer Action Network skated too.

The excitement only continued for the young hockey player. Brock would be participating with five other patients from Make-A-Wish in the Capitals’ starting lineup. Head Coach Todd Reirden announced the special news.

Saturday morning, Brock and his family rode in a limo with Oshie en route to Capital One Arena for today’s tilt with the Canucks.
