The Washington Capitals made line changes during practice on Tuesday prior to their game against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Wednesday night. This comes after the team lost 6-3 to the Colorado Avalanche on Monday, their fourth in the last five games (1-2-2).
They elevated forward T.J. Oshie to the top-line and demoted forward Tom Wilson to the second with center Evgeny Kuznetsov and forward Carl Hagelin. The third-line is made up of forward Jakub Vrana, center Lars Eller, and forward Garnet Hathaway. Forward Richard Panik was demoted to the fourth-line prior to Wednesday’s game against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Hagelin played all of 8 minutes last night, he should be moved down to 4th line.
So, demotions for Vrana and Panik. I thought Vrana was playing ok.
WOW, giving Hagelin a move up when he cant score makes a lot of sense…..NOT!! One of the problems is he never should have been signed to a new contract and definitely not for 4 years. Another of the problems with this team is the power play is terrible. #rd problem is its goalie….Holtby should have been traded 2 years ago right after the Cup win and they would have gotten something better than what they would not or after the season when they get nothing. This team has some speed but it is limited. They have grown old and slow and frankly the HC is average at best. They run the same power play for years and now wonder how other teams are shutting it down. And the big move is to move Oshie to the 1st line, Hagelin to the 2nd line and Varna to the 3rd line. This is going to be a very long season.
No doubt, 8 mins of ice time last night earns a promotion?
Fans are getting restless!
But it is to be expected. When your favorite sports heroes make twenty times your salary, yet fail in their missions, you get irritated
True story.

Give the coach 20 – 25 games and or replace the current regular goalie until further notice.
