After getting into the second half of Wednesday’s 6-0 win over the Chicago Blackhawks in his preseason debut, Washington Capitals goaltender Braden Holtby will play the full 60-minutes at the St. Louis Blues tonight (8 PM ET, can be seen on NBC Sports Washington). On the other side, goaltender Ville Husso will do the same for his team. More news from St. Louis can be found below as the Capitals look to improve to 5-0-0 in the preseason.

Remaining Battles
Defensemen Martin Fehervary and Tyler Lewington are expected to play against the Blues, and they’re the only two defensemen from Wednesday’s game who are slated to be in Friday night’s lineup as well. Up front, Brendan Leipsic, Liam O’Brien and Chandler Stephenson played in Chicago and they are also scheduled to suit up in St. Louis.

Blues’ Lines vs. Capitals
Blues defenseman Justin Faulk will make his team debut on Friday night after St. Louis acquired him along with a fifth-round pick in the 2021 NHL Draft from the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for defenseman Joel Edmundson, forward prospect Dominik Bokk, and a seventh-round pick in the 2021 NHL Draft on September 24.

Forward Nathan Walker, who was placed on waivers by the Blues earlier this week and signed a two-year, two-way contract with the team as an unrestricted free agent on July 1, will face his former team for the first time on Friday night.
NEXT ROSTER CUTS
According to Mike Vogel, The Capitals will likely make their next, and possibly final round of roster cuts when they return from the road trip on Saturday, and before the team departs for their matinee game with the Hurricanes in Raleigh Sunday afternoon.
