Only 103 more days ’til hockey season Caps fans! The Washington Capitals will host the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday, October 5 in their home opener for the 2019-20 season. Even though the time and television information have yet to be released, the game can most likely be seen on NBC Sports Washington beginning at 7 PM ET.

The two teams will also face each other twice in the preseason at Washington on Saturday, September 21 and in Raleigh on Sunday, September 29.
The Capitals finished the 2018-19 regular season with 104 points, which was good enough to win their fourth consecutive Metropolitan Division title. They also finished with the third-most points in the Eastern Conference. They fell to the Hurricanes in seven games in the First Round of the 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
The Hurricanes ended the 2018-19 regular season with 99 points, which was good enough for them to finish fourth in the Metropolitan Division and grab the first Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference. After beating the Capitals in the first round, the Hurricanes swept the New York Islanders in the second round before getting swept by the Boston Bruins in the 2019 Eastern Conference Final.
The Capitals will open the season at the St. Louis Blues for their home opener, where they will raise their first Stanley Cup Championship banner in franchise history prior to the game, at Enterprise Center on Wednesday, October 2. The game will likely take place at 8 PM ET and will likely be televised on NBC Sports Network.
The Islanders will host the Capitals in their home-opener at NYCB Live on Friday, October 4, one night before the Capitals host the Hurricanes at Capital One Arena. That game will likely start at 7 PM ET and can likely be seen on NBC Sports Washington.
