The St. Louis Blues beat the Boston Bruins 3-2 in overtime Wednesday night at TD Garden in Boston. The win ties the series 1-1. Game 3 will take place Saturday in St. Louis. Puck drop is set for shortly after 8:00 PM.

FIRST PERIOD
The Bruins would strike first with a power play goal from Charlie Coyle at 4:44 of the opening frame. The tally was setup by a nice centering pass to Coyle in the slot from Jake DeBrusk. The tally came on the Bruins first official shot of the game.

The Blues would answer at 9:37. Robert Bortuzzo would let one rip from the right circle that was deflected past Rask by a Bruin fronting the net.

But the Bruins would retake the lead just 37 seconds later with a goal from Joakim Nordstrom at 10:17, making it 2-1 Bruins. Shots on goal were 8-6 in favor of St. Louis.

But the Blues would answer once again. This time Vladimir Tarasenko would cleanup the loose change and roof one for the 2-2 tie. The tally was Tarasenko’s fourth straight game with a goal, and eighth straight game with points in the playoffs.

The period would end with the game 2-2. Shot attempts were tied 16-16 for the opening frame. Shots on goal were 10-8 in favor of the Blues. The Blues were  0 for 3 and the Bruins 1 for 4 on the power play after 40 minutes. The Bruins were 1 for 2 and the Blues 0 for 0 on the power play in the first 20 minutes.

SECOND PERIOD
After a four-goal opening stanza, the second period would go scoreless. The Blues out-attempted the Bruins 12-10 for the middle frame. The Blues led in hits 33-19 after 40 minutes.

THIRD PERIOD
The third period would also go scoreless. The Blues out-attempted the Bruins 18-11 in the final frame, and 46-37 after three periods. The Blues were 0 for 3 and the Bruins 1 for 5 on the power play after three periods.

OVERTIME
The Blues would win it in overtime with a goal from Carl Gunnarsson 3:51 into the extra frame, tying the series 1-1.
