Riley Barber Scores Twice in Hershey Bears 5-1 Victory over Bridgeport Sound Tigers + Jersey Auction (Photos)

HERSHEY, PA — Riley Barber continues to kill it, and he is officially the leading goal scorer in the AHL, ladies and gents. Barber had two goals and an assist tonight. He tallied his 30th and 31st goals – well surpassing his previous season high of 26 goals in his rookie season. He has eight points in his last six games.

Barber’s linemate Mike Sgarbossa also had a big night with one goal and three assists. He has also reached a new career high in goals (27) and points (57) this season. Garrett Pilon has also tallied 29 points on the season, adding his ninth goal of the season tonight.

The Bears are on a six game point streak and are 35-22-3-4 on the season, holding on to third place in the Atlantic Division. If the playoffs started today, Hershey would take on Bridgeport in the first round. Tonight was a good preview of that series. It’s good to see the Bears can come up with a big 5-1 win.

Game time.

And goal time – starting off with one from Garrett Pilon.

Now a goal from Aaron Ness.

Dude just get on your side.

Barbs gets his 30th!

Seems pretty chill about it.

And now it’s his 31st with a celebration on the ground.

Ohh but here’s another one. This one is from Mike Sgarbossa.

This first line is just crushing it.

The boys are smiling when Gersich comes out of the box after getting in his first fight.

Atta boy, Gersich.

Barber narrowly has the hat trick, and O’Brien laughs a little like the true BFF he is.

Again, Barber almost with the hatty.

Puck’s up.

Umm, yep. This isn’t good.

Malenstyn blocking shots – you can count on it.

When you whiff on what would’ve been an absolute bomb.

Almost had it.

A little crosscheck in the neck.

Da Bears win it.

It was nice to see all the Bears go up and shake hands with Linesemen Paul Carnathan and Scott Pomento, who were reffing their last games tonight.

It’s everyone’s favorite post-win hug.

And the W ends with a handshake.

This guy is pretty ok at scoring goals.

I’ve never heard so many ladies scream during the jersey auction.

It’s all for Hobbs.

The face you make when the women in the stands can’t control themselves apparently.
