We had so many juicy rushes to choose from tonight, but in the end, our final selection for Capitals’ line rush of the game was a beauty. Tom Wilson would register his 19th goal of the season, but Alex Ovechkin would provide a dazzling primary assist on the play. Here is our “What A Rush!” line rush of the game.

After an initial rush and shot by Ovechin, the rebound found its way out to Dmitry Orlov, who wired one from the left point. The Orlov shot was deflected by Flyers goaltender Brian Elliot. Ovechkin, who circled around the back of the net after his first rush and shot,  would reach behind him, collect the puck, make a move to his right, and while falling down, make a beautiful dish to Tom Wilson.

The goal was the first of five for the Capitals in their 5-3 win over the Flyers. Ovechkin’s assist was his 1,198 career point. He would score a power play goal later in the game for point 1,199.

The Capitals have now won five-straight games and stand alone atop the Metropolitan Division standings, two points ahead of the New York Islanders. The Capitals will next host the New Jersey Devils on Friday at Capital One Arena.
