Capitals Braden Holtby Wins His 250th Game, Becoming the Second-Fastest Goalie Ever to Do So

Since his establishment as the Capitals’ starting netminder in 2012, Braden Holtby has compiled win upon win and in securing another victory in the Capitals’ 5-3 win over the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday night, he reached the 250-win plateau for his career.

Holtby is the second-fasted goalie to reach the milestone as his 409 game fall behind only Montreal Canadiens’ great Ken Dryden who reached it in only 381 games. Below is a graphic the from Capitals’ PR on the Top 6 in the “Fastest to 250 Wins in NHL History.

The win brought Holtby’s win total for the 2018-19 to 25 and his overall record to 25-16-4. Holtby’s win percentage of 61.3 for his career ranks first among active netminders with at least 250 wins, ahead of Vegas Golden Knights goalie Marc-Andre Fleury’s 55.0%
