Every season for the past 12 years, hockey fans and jersey collectors have attended the annual Northern Virginia Game-worn Jersey Expo, which is a showcase for jersey collectors, companies, and others to show off their game-worn jerseys, game-used equipment, and more. NoVa Caps has covered the event in the past (see HERE and HERE).
Like last year’s event, the 2019 Expo will be held at the Holiday Inn in Sterling, Virginia off Route 28. This year’s event will host 29 collectors and dealers, and numerous sponsors. The event is free and open at 9:00 A.M. on March 16 and will close at 4:00 P.M. Among the attendees will be Scott Linn of ESPN 980, who boasts a collection of his own. In years past, the Expo has featured jerseys from the Capitals, Hershey Bears, and sweaters from the Original Six era.
People who attend will also be treated with displays of sticks and pucks, as well as pennants, poclet schedules, autographs, giveaways, bobbleheads, helmets, game-used pants, goalie pads, and more.
The event is promoted by Francis W. Rady and is the 13th annual event. Another of the booths will be occupied by Mei Grey Sports Group, a company that sells current and past game-used jerseys. Some of the previous year’s attendees will bring bags of jerseys to show and sell as walk-ins.
Thanks Joe B. For signing my wife’s puck at the Hockey HOF and Holtby for signing my hat and my wife’s jersey also at the HOF.
