A night after scoring seven unanswered goals in a 7-2 drubbing of the Ottawa Senators, the Washington Capitals hosted their annual VIP season ticket holder party at the MGM National Harbor’s ballroom for the second consecutive year on Wednesday night. The team’s top forwards gathered to sign autographs, take pictures, and raffle off jerseys.

While fans waited for players to arrive, the resort’s ballroom held games, such as foosball, air hockey, and NHL19 on Xbox One, where children played while they were waiting for players to arrive.

They had a bar and served small dishes, such as mini barbeque sandwiches, pizza, pasta, and crabcake sandwiches. Throughout the event, they had a screen that showed Capitals highlights from the 2018-19 season, which kept repeating.

The players were grouped into pairs at respective tables to sign autographs and take photos for fans. The players at the event included captain Alex Ovechkin, center Nicklas Backstrom, defenseman John Carlson, center Evgeny Kuznetsov, forward T.J. Oshie, forward Tom Wilson, forward Jakub Vrana, center Lars Eller, defenseman Michal Kempny, defenseman Matt Niskanen, defenseman Dmitry Orlov, and goaltender Braden Holtby.

After each of the two autograph sessions ended, the players from the session gathered up on the stage and drew a winning raffle ticket. The winner got to go up on stage to get the jersey, which the player autographed in person for them. The players drew the winning tickets out of a bag and shook the winner’s hand when on stage prior to giving the jersey to them.

After the second wave of players drew tickets on stage, the event wrapped up at around 9 PM.
