Devante Smith-Pelly is now heading to Hershey, a little more than 24 hours after being placed on waivers by the Washington Capitals. Smith-Pelly officially cleared waivers at noon on Thursday. Senior vice president and general manager Brian MacLellan announced the re-assignment today.
The move was made to make room for Carl Hagelin, who was officially acquired from the Los Angeles Kings, immediately following Smith-Pelly officially clearing waivers.
