Last summer, on the heels of the Capitals’ first-ever Stanley Cup championship, Capital One Arena underwent a series of renovations and upgrades to better the fan experience at Capitals, Wizards, Mystics, and other events at the DMV’s premier entertainment arena. Earlier today, Monumental Sports and Entertainment, the company that owns the facility, announced a second series of renovations and upgrades to the arena.
The second round of upgrades will see the screens and display in the main arena complex heavily upgraded, with the main feature being a brand-new, 360 degree scoreboard, more than 3,000 square feet of LED display, the largest arena Skyring to date, and improved video experience for every fan. The first round of upgrades included the addition and improvement of concourse LED displays, as well as the installation of new seats in the bowl of the arena.

In addition, there will be new dining options and more renovations to the concourse, offering fans a more diverse choice of food and beverages, something that has at times been cited as one of the major drawbacks of the arena. The second round of renovations and upgrades are set to take place in the fall of 2019.
