Hershey Bears on Seven Game Win Streak with Victory over Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (Photos)

HERSHEY, PA. — And so it continues – The Hershey Bears are now on a 13 game point streak. Yep, you read that right. Thirteen games and seven straight wins. Tonight was another shoot out victory, defeating their I-81 rival the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins 4-3.

Goals came from some regular names on the score sheet like Nathan Walker and Jayson Megna, but defenseman Tyler Lewington also tallied one for the Bears, picking up his third goal of the season. Again, Hershey’s goalies are coming up huge to help this team. Vanecek stopped 33 of 36 shots tonight. He also stopped a few breakaways and a penalty shot. Killing it, Vitek.

The Bears are now tied with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms for fourth place in the Atlantic Division. I guess it’s a good thing the two teams play each other back-to-back this weekend. Important two games coming up for the Chocolate and White!

Also one quick kudos to all the fans who stuck by this team when they hit a rough patch at the beginning of the season. It took some time but look at how the young squad has grown into solid competitors. Anyone else excited to see how the rest of the season goes?

Celebrating Hobbs’ goal in warm ups.

A little headlock to warm you up.

Walker’s goal gets the Bears on the board.

Beck is a shot blocking machine.

Great save by Vanecek on WBS’ Jimmy Hayes.

The Pens’ bench celebrates the goal that puts them ahead in the second.

Lewie with a big game tying goal. Gotta holster that weapon.

Everyone is so amped for him.

And WBS is ahead again. Womp.

Stopping the penalty shot.

Megna ties it up at 3-3!

When you think you scored, but it’s waived off on a high stick.

The rivalry.

Ready for the shootout.

Barber scores.

Walker scores.

And the bench celebrates.

One final stop for Vanecek.

And it’s the seventh straight win for Hershey.

That 13-game point streak feeling.

I hope picking up Walker is a trend now.

So much love for the tendies.

Always ends in a handshake.

Two assists and he’s your third star of the game.

Vanecek gets snubbed for first star honors – mainly because I wanted him to have to do the post-game interview.

I guess Walker’s goal, assist, and SO goal is alright, too. (This is sarcasm by the way, don’t comment below.)
