HERSHEY, PA — At the start of 2019, the Hershey Bears were sitting at the bottom of the Atlantic Division, and today they’re one spot away from making the playoffs. Hershey has been on an absolute terror and are now on a 12 game point streak and a six game win streak – the longest so far this season. Our complete game recap is here.
Not to mention, this weekend they played back-to-back games against the leader of the Atlantic Division and the entire AHL, and the Chocolate and White won both games. How about that? The Bears are finally clicking and just at the right time.
Megna picked up his tenth of the season, putting the Bears on the scoreboard in the first. For a bit, we thought Megna picked up another goal but it was waved off on a high stick. It’s all good though because Riley Barber got the gamewinner on the PP a little while after. Ilya Samsonov stopped 29 of 30 shots to help the team get it done.
The Bears are back in action on Wednesday against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, who have now fallen beneath the Bears in the standings. This weekend the Bears have a home-and-home against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, who are holding that coveted fourth playoff spot right now. Big weekend ahead for Chocolate Town.
