Capitals Pay Tribute to Barry Trotz With Video During Game Against the Islanders

barryHaving already presented former Head Coach Barry Trotz with his Stanley Cup ring earlier this season in New York, the Capitals paid homage to the man that led them to the franchise’s first Stanley Cup championship with a video tribute during a break in their game against Trotz’ New York Islanders.

Trotz, whose four-year stint with the Capitals ended after the two sides could not come to terms on a new contract, compiled a 205-89-35 regular season and 36-27 postseason record (.677), becoming the franchise’s winningest coach in the Stanley Cup Playoffs and recording the second-most wins of all Head Coaches and the highest win percentage of any coach in franchise history.

Trotz led the team to its first Stanley Cup championship in 2018 after falling short in his first three seasons as Head Coach. Under his guidance the Capitals became a more all-around team, and return to contender status.

Thank you, Barry!
