Every season, the Capitals’ wives and girlfriends take part in the annual “Better Halves” gift basket auction, whereby fans are able to bid on gift baskets created by the Capitals’ significant others, with funds going towards the Monumental Sports and Entertainment Foundation. This season’s collection of baskets will certainly be ones to watch.
The baskets for the 2018-19 feature autographed sticks, other gear, memorabilia, and many Stanley Cup Champion items. Madison Bowey’s basket features a Sony Playstation 4, ear muffs, a jersey, and an autographed picture of Bowey himself, while other player’s better halves’ baskets contain a variety of items.
Bidding is open through the second intermission of Friday night’s game against former bench boss Barry Trotz and the New York Islanders. Fans can bid at Handbid.com, or through the Handbid app to see all baskets up for auction.
