HERSHEY, Pa. — I know what you’re thinking another Hershey Bears loss to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. I can’t believe it. Tonight, Hershey lost to the Phantoms 6-1, marking the fourth time they’ve lost to them in five matchups this season. The good news is the two teams play another seven times (or maybe that’s not so good news).
The last time the Bears won against the Phantoms was on October 28 in a 3-1 win. I’m sure this wasn’t the type of game the Bears were looking for heading into the holiday break, especially after losing to the Phantoms 5-0 on Wednesday.
It’s not all negative though. Barber is continuing his streak of putting up points for the team. He now has 23 points in 26 games played.
And before I get to the photos, if I may kindly offer a suggestion to the fans at the GC. Let’s not mock cheer a 21-year-old goalie who’s playing his first year pro. Remember these guys are humans too and have 9,300+ eyes watching them – that’s a lot of pressure. I know Hershey has a reputation for winning, but have a little patience with this young team. Let’s hope a little bit of recharging with their families will do the trick, and the boys will come back ready to kick it up for the New Year.

Me when I watch hockey.
I love how Malenstyn is towering over Whitney.
Find someone who looks at you like Riley Barber looks at Vitek Vanecek.
This has become my favorite thing to watch in warmups.
Vitek went for the cup check today.
Malenstyn didn’t seem to mind. Goofs.
Time for the game.
A piece of glass fell out today, so that was exciting I guess.
Barber celebrates in between some fans’ hands.
Peeking out to see that Ness bomb.
Ugh. We’ve seen a lot of this the last two matchups against the Phantoms.
Anyone else feeling terrified for O’Brien right now? Nothing like some skate blades near your face.
And it’s another save.
We’ll get ’em next time boys.
