ALLENTOWN, PA — Things have been a bit of a struggle for hockey in Chocolate Town. The Bears are now last in the Atlantic Division with a record of 11-16-0-2. In tonight’s 5-0 loss, Phantoms’ goalie Alex Lyon stopped all 18 of the Bears’ shots, marking the second time the Bears were shut out this season – both of which were against Lehigh on the road.
The Bears are also missing quite a few big names on the backend. Lewington and Siegenthaler are recalled. Johansen and Hobbs are injured. Geisser is out for the World Juniors. That’s quite a few blueline staples out of the lineup.
The Bears and Phantoms will face off again on Saturday and also host the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Friday. Let’s hope the boys can turn it around and pick up some points before the holidays come around. It will be nice for some of these young guns to build up their confidence a bit as they learn what it takes to be a pro.

Joey Leach returns to Hershey on a PTO and checks into the lineup in Allentown.
I don’t know -Vanecek might be feeling like a Grinch after tonight.
Megna misses on a semi-breakaway.
A little bit of iron.
You can’t do that.
Vanecek shakes the puck out of his pads.
The Phantoms’ Vecchione redirects the puck in the net.
It may be kinda hard to see but that’s the puck just sitting there behind Lyon.
It may look like it was in, but it was off the outside.
The puck has gotta be there somewhere.
Seems like this is a routine thing now when the Bears’ come to Allentown. They haven’t won a game against the Phantoms at home since April 2017.
