The Washington Capitals game against the Carolina Hurricanes on Friday night produced yet another Alex Ovechkin milestone.   The power play goal that he scored for the team’s fifth goal was his 237th power play goal and broke a tie with Mario Lemieux for most power play goals scored with a single franchise.

He is now tied for sixth place with Brendan Shanahan and is behind only Dave Andreychuk (274), Brett Hull (265), Teemu Selanne (255), Luc Robitaille (247), and Phil Esposito (246).  All of those other players had gotten their power play goals with multiple teams.
