After scoring his first two NHL goals in back-to-back games earlier this week, it was no surprise that Capitals forward Travis Boyd was handed the keys (er, password) to the team’s Twitter account on Thursday. In two short videos, Boyd recorded some videos with two special guests.

In the first video, Boyd is joined by his young daughter Hayden (pictured above with her father and mom, Kelsey), who helps her father encourage Capitals fans in North Carolina to come and cheer the team on in their Friday night game against the Carolina Hurricanes. Hayden emphatically ends the video with an enthusiastic, “Let’s Go Caps!”.

The second video features Boyd on the team bus heading from the airport for the hotel, with teammate Jakub Vrana, who Boyd describes as, “number 13 in your roster book, but number one in your heart”, thanking fans for their support and for the “being the best in the league”, before the video ends.

The Capitals take on the ‘Canes in Raleigh tomorrow night before returning home on Saturday to take on the Buffalo Sabres.
