Alex Ovechkin keeps piling up the milestones.  In the Washington Capitals’ 4-1 victory against the New York Islanders on Monday, Alex Ovechkin scored the team’s fourth goal, an empty net goal.  This goal ties him for #15 on the NHL’s All Time Goal Scoring list with Joe Sakic and Jarome Iginla.  His next goal will put him in sole possession of 15th place on the list.

Tonight’s goal was Ovechkin’s 18th goal of the year and came on a night where Nicklas Backstrom got three assists and passed Peter Bondra for second place on the Caps’ All Time Points list.  Backstrom now has 827 points while Bondra had 825.
