One of the best things about sports is the family atmosphere being part of a team creates, and oftentimes, players’ families will form lifelong friendships. And that includes players’ wives and children spending time together while their husbands and fathers are on the road. In a recent Instagram post, T.J. Oshie’s wife Lauren posted a series of photos featuring a number of Capitals’ (and one former team member) kids and they are simply the best!
The photos feature Oshie’s two daughters Lyla and Leni, John Carlson’s sons Rudy and Lucca, Nicklas Backstrom’s son Vince and daughter Haley, and former Capitals (and current Detroit Red Wings) defenseman Mike Green’s son Axel together in Miami Florida.
The first photo shows Lyla Oshie holding Rudy Carlson, and (from left) Haley Backstrom, Lucca Carlson, Vince Backstrom, Leni Oshie, and Axel Green sitting next to one another. The Caps are in Colorado tonight to face the Avalanche (a 9:00 P.M start on NBC Sports Washington) and will be without the services of center Evgeny Kuznetsov, Oshie, and goaltender Braden Holtby, all out with upper-body injuries. And while their fathers will be dealing with freezing temperatures in Colorado, the kids are having fun in sunny Florida!
Ahhh! Such cute kids. (And we may be hearing of some of them for the hockey exploits some time in the future.)
