Hershey Bears Defeat Springfield Thunderbirds 3-2 (Photos)

HERSHEY, PA — The Hershey Bears are on a two game point streak and are 7-2-0-1 in their last 10 games. Tonight’s victory over Springfield was won on the power play with all three of the Bears’ goals coming on the man advantage. Prior to tonight’s game, Hershey was the only team in the AHL without a PP goal at home, going 0-for-23 in chances at the GC. Probably pretty nice to cash in three times tonight.

Ilya Samsonov was again stellar in net. He helped the Bears hold the one goal lead making 31 saves on the evening and 17 in the third period alone. Some solid work by the young netminder.

Walker scores!

For a second there, we thought Pilon was credited with his first pro goal, but it was given to Walker.

I love how Samsonov is just watching everything happen back there.

On a scale of 1-10, how much do you think Bobby Farnham likes playing in Hershey?

Sliding in to the DMs like (Is that still a thing? No. Ok.)

Hey, I’m Riley Barber – Nice to meet ya.

Some happy dmen for Barber’s goal that puts the Bears up 3-1.

Da Bears win!

Pilon with two assists and almost his first pro goal is second star of the game.

Samsonov’s first star of the game interview was pretty great. “Thanks for coming. Good game.” Well said, Ilya, well said.
