Ovechkin Ties Marcel Dionne For 8th On The All-Time Power Play Goals List

He keeps climbing the ranks of many of the NHL’s “all-time” lists. Alex Ovechkin’s power play goal in Monday night’s tilt against the Edmonton Oilers was yet another notch on an NHL “alltime” list, this time the power play goal list. The goal was the 234th power play goal of his NHL career.

The power play goal ties him with Marcel Dionne for eighth on the NHL’s all-time list for power play goals. Ovechkin needs just two more power play goals to tie Mario Lemieux for seventh on the all time list.

Ovechkin is 40 power play goals away from tying Dave Andreychuk for the all time record.
