HERSHEY, PA — After defeating the Amerks in Rochester 4-2 on Friday, the Hershey Bears ended up losing to the Amerks in back-to-back meetings. The boys were rolling after the young team found their stride winning their last three games prior to tonight’s matchup.
Travis Boyd joined the lineup this evening on a conditioning stint from Washington. This is the first we’ve seen Boyd back in the Chocolate and White since last season, but it felt like he never left.
Derek Hulak opened the scoring first this evening, tallying the Bears’ lone goal in the first period. From there on out, it was pretty much all Rochester. Shots on goal were 34-27 on the evening. Also credit to the Bears penalty kill. They killed four penalties tonight, continuing six game streak of not allowing a power play goal. Getting it done boys.
Tomorrow is the Bears first annual Hockey Fights Cancer Night. Fans are encouraged to wear lavender and share their stories on social. The Bears will be wearing specialty jerseys that will be sold post-game with some of the proceeds going to the American Cancer Society and Four Diamonds Fund.

These photos of Shane Gersich skating around Connor Hobbs made me smile so I had to share them.
Hobbs seems like the popular guy on the team.
Also Hobbs is coming in hot with the Movember stache.
One a scale of 1 to terrified, how do you think Tyler Lewington is feeling in this photo?
When you take crash the net literally
Yes, that is the goalie crawling back to the goal on the right and the puck sliding through the empty crease on the left. Ahhh, good times.
OB goes again.
Yep. I think this about sums it up.
